Hybrid Structure for Best Sound Quality

The CB-1DB Receptacle Wall Plate is made from a hybrid structure of 2017 Duralumin and Brass. 2017 Duralumin is the best material for sound quality and vibration control, and brass has an intrinsically beautiful sound often used in musical instruments.

2017 Duralumin or Super Duralumin has the highest copper content of any aluminum alloy. It yields a beautiful sound when mated with your receptacle.

Other versions of Duralumin, such as A7075, with high Zinc content are hard and strong but do not control vibrations properly. They yield a hard and brittle sound shifting frequencies to the high end.

Each material's resonant frequency is eliminated and the vibration damping characteristic of the hybrid structure improves the sound dramatically. Revealing a strong and dense low end and a sense of vibrancy and aliveness throughout.

Test results confirm the excellent sound quality!

ACOUSTIC REVIVE had an impartial third party test each metal's vibration damping characteristic:

Each sample tested was of the same size and weight. As you can see from the chart, 2017 Duralumin has the best vibration damping characteristic. It also shows further dramatic improvement by combining 2017 Duralumin with Brass. Duralumin A7075 or Aluminum A6063 both demonstrate poor vibration damping characteristics. Cast iron is shown to have high internal loss and an excellent vibration damping characteristic. But 2017 Duralumin or the combination of 2017 Duralumin and Brass has a far better vibration damping characteristic then cast iron.
